A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or execute arbitrary code.( CVE-2022-4378 ) Tamas Koczka discovered that the Bluetooth L2CAP handshake implementation in the Linux kernel contained multiple use-after-free vulnerabilities. A physically proximate attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code.( CVE-2022-42896 ) It was discovered that the NFSD implementation in the Linux kernel did not properly handle some RPC messages, leading to a buffer overflow. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code.( CVE-2022-43945 ) Checking update status The problem can be corrected in these Livepatch versions: Kernel type 22.04 20.04 18.04 16.04 aws 92.2 92.1 92.1 92.1 aws-5.15 - 92.2 - - aws-5.4 - - 92.1 - aws-hwe - - - 92.1 azure 92.1 92.1 - 92.1 azure-4.15 - - 92.1 - azure-5.4 - - 92.1 - gcp 92.2 92.1 - 92.1 gcp-4.15 - - 92.1 - gcp-5.15 - 92.2 - - gcp-5.4 - - 92.1 - generic-4.15 - - 92.1 92.1 generic-4.4 - - - 92.1 generic-5.4 - 92.1 92.1 - gke 92.2 92.1 - - gke-4.15 - - 92.1 - gke-5.15 - 92.2 - - gke-5.4 - - 92.1 - gkeop - 92.1 - - gkeop-5.4 - - 92.1 - ibm 92.1 92.1 - - ibm-5.4 - - 92.1 - linux 92.1 - - - lowlatency 92.1 - - - lowlatency-4.15 - - 92.1 92.1 lowlatency-4.4 - - - 92.1 lowlatency-5.4 - 92.1 92.1 - oem - - 92.1 - To check your kernel type and Livepatch version, enter this command: canonical-livepatch status References o CVE-2022-42896 o CVE-2022-4378 o CVE-2022-43945 - --------------------------END INCLUDED TEXT-------------------- You have received this e-mail bulletin as a result of your organisation's registration with AusCERT.
