Summary

An issue was identified in IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty, which IBM
MQ ships and uses to supply IBM MQ Console and IBM MQ REST API functionality.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID: CVE-2022-24839
DESCRIPTION: Sparkle Motion Nokogiri is vulnerable to a denial of service,
caused by a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError exception when parsing ill-formed HTML
markup in the fork of org.cyberneko.html. By sending a specially-crafted
request, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial
of service condition.

Remediation/Fixes

This issue was resolved under APAR IT42209.

Apply fix pack 9.1.0.12

IBM MQ 9.2 LTS

Follow the instructions given in the Applying WebSphere Liberty interim fixes
to the mqweb server document, to apply the IBM WebSphere Application Server
Liberty fix for APAR PH48810 , or apply a future MQ 9.2.0 maintenance update
containing a fix for IT42209 when available. IT42209 will be listed in the MQ
9.2.0 fix list when included in a future maintenance update.

IBM MQ 9.3 LTS

Follow the instructions given in the Applying WebSphere Liberty interim fixes
to the mqweb server document, to apply the IBM WebSphere Application Server
Liberty fix for APAR PH48810 , or apply a future MQ 9.3.0 maintenance update
