Comment: This advisory references vulnerabilities in products which run on

Details

Richard Weinberger discovered that Squashfs-Tools mishandled certain
malformed SQUASHFS files. An attacker could use this vulnerability to
write arbitrary files to the filesystem.

Update instructions

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package
versions:

Ubuntu 21.04

  o squashfs-tools - 1:4.4-2ubuntu0.2

Ubuntu 20.04

  o squashfs-tools - 1:4.4-1ubuntu0.2

Ubuntu 18.04

  o squashfs-tools - 1:4.3-6ubuntu0.18.04.4

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
