This affects Linux Kernel versions 4.11.5 and earlier. It appears that this feature was introduced in the Linux Kernel version 2.6.23. (CVE-2017-1000365) Impact This vulnerability allows unauthorized disclosure of information and disruption of service. Security Advisory Status F5 Product Development has assigned ID 672895 (BIG-IP), ID 672984 (BIG-IQ), ID 672983 (Enterprise Manager), ID 673044 (F5 iWorkflow), and IDs CPF-24196, CPF-24197, and CPF-24198 (Traffix) to this vulnerability. Additionally, BIG-IP iHealth may list Heuristic H15412203 on the Diagnostics > Identified > Low page. For more information, refer to K70113407: End of Software Development for BIG-IP AAM. Recommended Actions If you are running a version listed in the Versions known to be vulnerable column, you can eliminate this vulnerability by upgrading to a version listed in the Versions known to be not vulnerable column. If the table lists only an older version than what you are currently running, or does not list a non-vulnerable version, then no upgrade candidate currently exists. To determine the necessary upgrade path for your BIG-IQ system, you should understand the BIG-IQ product offering name changes. For more information, refer to K21232150: Considerations for upgrading BIG-IQ or F5 iWorkflow systems . Mitigation To mitigate this vulnerability for affected F5 products, you should permit management access to F5 products only over a secure network and limit shell access to trusted users. For more information about securing access to BIG-IP and Enterprise Manager systems, refer to K13309: Restricting access to the Configuration utility by source IP address (11.x - 13.x) and K13092: Overview of securing access to the BIG-IP system.
