VULNERABILITY SUMMARY

VMware announced multiple security vulnerabilities on systems running on
various versions of ESXi hypervisor and vCenter servers. This can potentially
impact HPE SimpliVity systems (HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen 9, HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen
10, HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen 10 G, HPE SimpliVity Gen 10 H, HPE SimpliVity 325
Gen 10, HPE SimpliVity 2600 Gen 10, SimpliVity OmniCube, SimpliVity OmniStack
for Cisco, SimpliVity OmniStack for Lenovo and SimpliVity OmniStack for Dell
nodes) running on any of the impacted versions (7.0 before
ESXi_7.0.1-0.30.17551050, 6.7 before ESXi670-202102401-SG, 6.5 before
ESXi650-202102101-SG).

Information about these vulnerabilities :

  o CVE-2021-21974 (ESXi Hypervisor)

A malicious actor residing in the management network who has access to port 427
on ESXi host may be able to trigger the heap-overflow issue in OpenSLP service
resulting in remote code execution.

  o CVE-2021-21972 (vCenter Server)

A malicious actor with network access to port 443 may exploit this issue to
execute commands with unrestricted privileges on the underlying operating
system that hosts vCenter Server.

  o CVE-2021-21973 (vCenter Server)

A malicious actor with network access to port 443 may exploit this issue by
sending a POST request to vCenter Server plugin leading to information
disclosure.

  o For vCenter 6.5 version apply vCenter Server 6.5 Update 3n or vCenter
    Server Appliance 6.5 Update 3n (VCSA)

  o For vCenter 6.7 version apply vCenter Server 6.7 Update 3l or vCenter
    Server Appliance 6.7 Update 3l (VCSA)

  o For vCenter 7.0 version apply the manual workaround as suggested in https:/
