Summary

There is a vulnerability in IBM Runtime Environment Java that is used by IBM
Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack. This issue was disclosed as part of the IBM
Java SDK updates in January 2019. IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack has
addressed this vulnerability.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID: CVE-2018-12547
DESCRIPTION: Eclipse OpenJ9 is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by
improper bounds checking by the jio_snprintf() and jio_vsnprintf() functions.
By sending an overly long argument, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer
and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
