Advisory ID: cisco-sa-20190109-cps-graphite-access
First Published: 2019 January 9 16:00 GMT
Version 1.0: Final
Workarounds: No workarounds available
Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvc95415
CVE-2018-15466
CWE-284
CVSS Score: Base 5.3
CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N/E:X/RL:X/RC:X

Summary

o A vulnerability in the Graphite web interface of the Policy and Charging
Rules Function (PCRF) of Cisco Policy Suite (CPS) could allow an
unauthenticated, remote attacker to access the Graphite web interface. The
attacker would need to have access to the internal VLAN where CPS is
    deployed.

The vulnerability is due to lack of authentication. An attacker could
exploit this vulnerability by directly connecting to the Graphite web
interface. An exploit could allow the attacker to access various statistics
and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regarding the Cisco Policy Suite
    environment.

There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Fixed Software

o For information about fixed software releases, consult the Cisco bug ID(s)
at the top of this advisory.

When considering software upgrades, customers are advised to regularly
consult the advisories for Cisco products, which are available from the
Cisco Security Advisories and Alerts page, to determine exposure and a
    complete upgrade solution.

In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded
contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software
configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release.
If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco
Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance
    providers.

Exploitation and Public Announcements

Cisco Policy Suite for Mobile and Cisco Policy Suite Diameter Routing Agent
Software Redis Server Unauthenticated Access Vulnerability

Priority: Medium
Advisory ID: cisco-sa-20190109-cps-redis
First Published: 2019 January 9 16:00 GMT
Version 1.0: Final
Workarounds: No workarounds available
Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvf08748

CVE-2018-0181

Summary

o A vulnerability in the Redis implementation used by the Cisco Policy Suite
for Mobile and Cisco Policy Suite Diameter Routing Agent software could
allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to modify key-value pairs for
short-lived events stored by the Redis server.

The vulnerability is due to improper authentication when accessing the
Redis server. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability
by modifying key-value pairs stored within the Redis server database. An
exploit could allow the attacker to reduce the efficiency of the Cisco
Policy Suite for Mobile and Cisco Policy Suite Diameter Routing Agent
    software.

Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability for
    Cisco Policy Suite for Mobile.

Currently there is no software release available for Cisco Policy Suite
Diameter Routing Agent software. There are no workarounds that address this
vulnerability, but a mitigation for Cisco Policy Suite Diameter Routing
Agent software exists. See the Workarounds section for more details.

      - Cisco Policy Suite for Wi-Fi

Only products listed in the Vulnerable Products section of this advisory
are known to be affected by this vulnerability.

Workarounds

o There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

A mitigation for Cisco Policy Suite Diameter Routing Agent software exists
that reduces the attack surface by blocking access to external facing
interfaces. This procedure requires a number of steps to complete. Contact
the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for details and assistance in
    implementation.
