SUSE Security Update: Security update for the Linux Kernel (Live Patch 26 for SLE 12 SP2)
______________________________________________________________________________

Announcement ID: SUSE-SU-2018:3789-1
Rating: important
References: #1102682 #1107832
Cross-References: CVE-2018-14633 CVE-2018-5390
Affected Products:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP 12-SP2
                    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12-SP2-LTSS
______________________________________________________________________________

An update that fixes two vulnerabilities is now available.

Description:

This update for the Linux Kernel 4.4.121-92_98 fixes several issues.

The following security issues were fixed:

   - CVE-2018-14633: A security flaw was found in the
chap_server_compute_md5() function in the ISCSI target code in the Linux
kernel in a way an authentication request from an ISCSI initiator is
processed. An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause a stack buffer
overflow and smash up to 17 bytes of the stack. The attack requires the
iSCSI target to be enabled on the victim host. Depending on how the
target's code was built (i.e. depending on a compiler, compile flags and
hardware architecture) an attack may lead to a system crash and thus to
a denial-of-service or possibly to a non-authorized access to data
exported by an iSCSI target. Due to the nature of the flaw, privilege
escalation cannot be fully ruled out, although we believe it is highly
     unlikely (bsc#1107832).
   - CVE-2018-5390: Fixed the possiblilty that the kernel can be forced to
make very expensive calls to tcp_collapse_ofo_queue() and
tcp_prune_ofo_queue() for every incoming packet which can lead to a
     denial of service (bnc#1102682).

SUSE Security Update: Security update for the Linux Kernel (Live Patch 17 for SLE 12 SP2)
______________________________________________________________________________

Announcement ID: SUSE-SU-2018:3787-1
Rating: important
References: #1103098 #1112039
Cross-References: CVE-2018-18386 CVE-2018-5391
Affected Products:

                    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12-SP2-LTSS
______________________________________________________________________________

An update that fixes two vulnerabilities is now available.

Description:

This update for the Linux Kernel 4.4.103-92_56 fixes several issues.

The following security issues were fixed:

   - CVE-2018-5391: Fixed a denial of service attack with low rates of
specially modified packets targeting IP fragment re-assembly. An
attacker may have caused a denial of service condition by sending
specially crafted IP fragments. The current vulnerability
(CVE-2018-5391) became exploitable in the Linux kernel with the increase
of the IP fragment reassembly queue size (bsc#1103098).
   - CVE-2018-18386: The drivers/tty/n_tty.c allowed local attackers (who are
able to access pseudo terminals) to hang/block further usage of any
pseudo terminal devices due to an EXTPROC versus ICANON confusion in
     TIOCINQ (bsc#1112039).
