Security Advisory Recommended Actions If you are running a version listed in the Versions known to be vulnerable column, you can eliminate this vulnerability by upgrading to a version listed in the Fixes introduced in column. If the table lists only an older version than what you are currently running, or does not list a non-vulnerable version, then no upgrade candidate currently exists. Note: For details about how Security Advisory articles are versioned, and what versions are listed in the table, refer to K51812227: Understanding Security Advisory versioning. Mitigation To temporarily mitigate this vulnerability, you can restart the apmd process. To do so, perform the following procedure: Impact of action: The BIG-IP APM system fails to process traffic while the apmd process restarts. The following procedure stops the BIG-IP APM system from actively disclosing sensitive logging information. However, the procedure does not prevent the vulnerability from occurring. 1. Log in to the TMOS Shell (tmsh) by typing the following command: tmsh 2. Restart the apmd process by typing the following command: restart /sys /service apmd - --------------------------END INCLUDED TEXT-------------------- You have received this e-mail bulletin as a result of your organisation's registration with AusCERT.
