Vulnerability Summary:

EMC Smarts NCM versions prior 9.1 contain multiple security vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited by malicious users to compromise the affected system.

Vulnerability Details:

Hard-coded encryption key is used when storing credentials (CVE-2012-4615)

CVSS v2 Base Score: 6.6 (AV:L/AC:M/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C)

NCM database by default allows unauthenticated connection (CVE-2012-4614)

CVSS v2 Base Score: 9.3 (AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C)

Problem Resolution:

EMC Smarts NCM 9.1 contains the resolution to these issues. EMC strongly recommends all customers upgrade at the earliest opportunity and follow steps described in release notes to further secure NCM deployments.

This release also includes security updates for Apache Tomcat and JBOSS that are shipped with the product.
