Cisco Energy Management Suite Cross-Site Request Forgery Vulnerability

Priority: Medium
Advisory ID: cisco-sa-20181107-ems-csrf
First Published: 2018 November 7 16:00 GMT
Version 1.0: Final
Workarounds: No workarounds available
Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvm29341

CVE-2018-15445
CVSS Score:
Base 6.3
CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N/E:X/RL:X/RC:X

Summary

  *
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Energy
Management Suite Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to
conduct a cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attack and perform arbitrary
    actions on an affected device.

The vulnerability is due to insufficient CSRF protections for the web-based
management interface of an affected device. An attacker could exploit this
vulnerability by persuading an authenticated user of the interface to
follow a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to
perform arbitrary actions on a targeted device via a web browser and with
    the privileges of the user.

There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

This advisory is available at the following link:

    complete upgrade solution.

In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded
contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software
configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release.
If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco
Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance

Cisco Energy Management Suite XML External Entity Vulnerability

Priority: Medium
Advisory ID: cisco-sa-20181107-ems-xml-xxe
First Published: 2018 November 7 16:00 GMT
Version 1.0: Final
Workarounds: No workarounds available
Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvm38505

CVE-2018-15393
CVSS Score:
Base 6.3
CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N/E:X/RL:X/RC:X

Summary

  *
A vulnerability in the web-based user interface of Cisco Energy Management
Suite Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to gain read
and write access to information that is stored on an affected system.

The vulnerability is due to improper handling of XML External Entity (XXE)
entries when parsing certain XML files. An attacker could exploit this
vulnerability by convincing a user of an affected system to import a
crafted XML file with malicious entries, which could allow the attacker to
read and write files within the affected application.

There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.
