Microsoft and Oracle with a dash of Adobe

Date: 16 October 2008

Greetings,

This week Microsoft and Oracle decided to release all their patches and vulnerabilities on the same day. Unfortunately that means lots of bulletins for me, and lots of patching for you :(

On the Microsoft front, public exploits are starting to be made available already specifically MS08-066 and MS08-059:

Also Adobe has released a new version of Flash Player (10.0.12.36) that not only adds new features, but6 also corrects a few potential security vulnerabilities. What's more, they have released it for Windows, Mac, and Linux all at the same time :) Unfortunately, Solaris has been left out - with the latest version still left on 9.0.125.0.

Lastly for those of you who have new research waiting to become public, our conference - AusCERT2009 - has announced its call for papers. So check out http://www.auscert.org.au/6748 for more details.

So have a good weekend.
Richard
