Port Scanning increase

Date: 18 June 2008

We have had a report of a massive increase in port 53 TCP traffic for the past 24 hours.

So far, we are unaware of any new vulnerabilities in any BIND or DNS servers. Make sure you have updated your DNS/BIND servers to the latest possible version.

BIND 9.5.0 was released earlier this month so it is possible that it may be target. See ESB-2008.0571 for more information
