Product: IBM solidDB 6.00.1018 and earlier
Operating System: Windows
Linux variants
AIX
HP-UX
Solaris
Impact: Execute Arbitrary Code/Commands
Denial of Service
Access: Remote/Unauthenticated
CVE Names: CVE-2008-1708 CVE-2008-1707 CVE-2008-1706
CVE-2008-1705
Member content until: Friday, May 09 2008
OVERVIEW
Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in IBM solidDB that
could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service or
execute arbitrary code.[1,2,3,4]
IMPACT
If an attacker can send data to the solidDB server, they may be
able to trigger a flaw in the logging system to execute arbitrary
code. A separate vulnerability could be triggered to crash the
server.
MITIGATION
At the time of writing no solution to this problem is available,
however users of solidDB can restrict network access to the server
to only trusted systems which may lessen the ability for remote
attackers to leverage these vulnerabilities.
