OVERVIEW
VLC Media Player before version 0.8.6f contains several
vulnerabilities that may allow a remote attacker to execute
arbitrary code.
IMPACT
If a user of VLC Media Player were to open a specially crafted
media file the creator of that file could cause VLC to run
code of the attackers choice or cause a denial of service.
Specifically, the vulnerabilities lie within VLC Media Player's
subtitle, Real RTSP, MP4 and cinepak functions.[1]
MITIGATION
Users of VLC Media Player should upgrade to version 0.8.6f
available at http://www.videolan.org.
