OVERVIEW
avast! 4 before version 4.8.1169[1] contains a vulnerability in
its aavmker4.sys kernel driver that could allow local attackers
to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM or cause a denial of service.
IMPACT
A logged in user could send a specially crafted IOCTL request to
the affected kernel driver to cause a system crash or execute
arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges[2].
MITIGATION
Users of avast! 4 should upgrade to version 4.8.1169.
