Mobile Phone Worm and AusCERT Conference |
|
Date: 24 January 2008 Original URL: http://www.auscert.org.au/render.html?cid=7066&it=8701 Greetings, This week saw AusCERT issue two alerts: Radiator 4.0 was released and Citrix Presentation Server had a serious flaw patched. Other than those the main item of note was the Symbian worm that is reportedly spreading via MMS and Bluetooth (https://www.auscert.org.au/render.html?it=8685). At AusCERT you can tell when the AusCERT Conference is coming up. People start running around more, meetings on most days, and new logos and pictures to look at. Well it has started. The conference wind-up is underway. A very calm start, only a few more missing people (at meetings) and questions about which this and which that looked better. So if you are like me and leave everything to the last minute, I thought I would give you a subtle (or not so subtle) reminder that there are 3 months left until the end of early registrations. http://conference.auscert.org.au/conf2008/ While we're on the topic of reminders, there is still a chance to register for the Web Infrastructure Security on UNIX training course which runs in Sydney on the 6 and 7 of February 2008. http://www.auscert.org.au/2408 I hope you all have a good Australia day weekend. I hope to. I will be heading out to the beach, so if anyone calls and hears waves in the background, just think about how much fun I could be having. Richard |
