OVERVIEW:

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in the Hitachi JP1/File

authentication or cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

IMPACT:

The first vulnerability only affects the Unix like releases.
Hitachi has described this vulnerability as following:

"In JP1/File Transmission Server/FTP, a vulnerability exists whereby
a malicious user can bypass authentication and view files under a
       specific directory." [1]

The second vulnerability only affects the Windows releases.
Hitachi has described this vulnerability as following:

"In JP1/File Transmission Server/FTP, when a specific file is
specified in an FTP command and the command is executed, the FTP
       server services might stop." [2]

MITIGATION:

Both of these vulnerabilities can been rectified by upgrading to the
       latest release.
