OVERVIEW:

        A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been discovered in IBM 
        WebSphere Application Server which can allow remote attackers to 
        execute arbitrary scripting code.


IMPACT:

        The National Vulnerability Database [1], gives the following
        information regarding this vulnerability:

        "Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Servlet Engine / Web 
        Container in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 5.1.1.4 through 
        5.1.1.16 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or 
        HTML via the Expect HTTP header." [2]


MITIGATION:

        PK51068_Fix is available for download on the IBM website. [3]

        IBM also plans to include the solution for this vulnerability in 
        the cumulative fix 5.1.1.17. [3]
