Australian Taxation Office Notification

Date: 15 October 2007

Hi all,

Yet another scam is being circulated around but currently not in great numbers. The scammers are trying to get some personal details regarding the recipient. The primary target of information that is sought is the Credit Card number and the Credit Card Verification Value (CVV).

To appear legitimate they also try and get some other common information such as your Mothers Maiden name.

Currently only one domain has been serving the phishing site:

      http://125-100-64-173.platz.jp/ [REMOVED] /index.php

Here is a screen shot of the bad website

The official media release from the ATO can be found on their website at http://www.ato.gov.au.

Regards

Zane
