OVERVIEW:
        
        Version 2.6.1.3 of Snort has been released, correcting a
        serious vulnerability. If exploited, this vulnerability may result 
        in the remote execution of arbitrary code.


IMPACT: 

        A vulnerability exists in the DCE/RPC preprocessor of Snort versions
        prior to 2.6.1.3. Exploition of this vulnerability may result in the 
        execution of arbitrary code with privileges equivilent to those of 
        the user running snort.


MITIGATION:

        Version 2.6.1.3 of Snort has been released [1], correcting this 
        problem.

        An alternative mitigation is to disable the DCE/RPC preprocessor.
