                                  [Linux]
Novell Access Manager Identity Server cross-site scripting vulnerability
                              9 January 2007
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

        AusCERT Advisory Summary
        ------------------------

Product: Novell Access Manager Identity Server 3.0.0 build 1012 and prior
Operating System: Linux variants
Impact: Cross-site Scripting
Access: Remote/Unauthenticated
Member content until: Tuesday, February 06 2007

OVERVIEW:

The login web page on the Novell Access Manager Identity Server
contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability, displaying
user-supplied content from URLs of the form:

	http://host/nidp/idff/sso?RequestID=1234&IssueInstant=<scripting content>

IMPACT:

A remote attacker may execute arbitrary JavaScript in a legitimate
user's browser in the context of the Identity Server site.

This potentially allows the attacker to steal Identity Server
	authentication credentials.

MITIGATION:

Identity Server builds 3.0.0-1013 shipped with Access Manager SP1 IR1
resolve this issue. Novell state the patch will also be included in
	Access Manager 3 SP1.
