Microsoft Corporation has released the following security bulletin 
concerning a vulnerability in the Windows NT Service Control Manager. A 
specially crafted malformed service request may cause the Service Control 
Manager to become unresponsive.  This vulnerability could be exploited by a 
remote or local user to cause a denial of service attack which may not 
become immediately obvious to the operator of the target system:
