        Patch Available for "Legacy Credential Caching" Vulnerability
                              30 November 1999

===========================================================================

Microsoft Corporation has released the following security bulletin
concerning a vulnerability in Windows 95/98's caching of network security
credentials.

A malicious user may exploit this vulnerability to obtain the last user's
network credentials, so long as the malicious user has physical access to
the user's machine and the machine has not been rebooted since the last
networking session.

This vulnerability may allow a local user to gain privileged access on
other systems.

A patch has been provided by Microsoft to eliminate this vulnerability:
