Welcome to the 2005 Australian Computer Crime and Security Survey web site.
The 2005 Australian Computer Crime and Security Survey is being produced by the Australian High Tech Crime Centre, the Australian Federal Police, New South Wales Police, Northern Territory Police, Queensland Police, South Australia Police, Tasmania Police, Victoria Police, Western Australia Police and AusCERT, Australia's national computer emergency response team.
The survey is also being sponsored by the Australian Government's Attorney-General's Department and the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.
The results of the survey will be published in May 2005.
We are seeking participation from over 500 Australian public and private sector enterprises.
With your participation, the results of this survey will:
- allow us to gain a better understanding of the extent, nature and impact of computer crime in Australia
- identify the most common computer network threats
- assess how well we, as a nation, are protecting ourselves from computer network attack
- raise awareness of computer security issues.

Survey Results
The survey partners will collate and analyse the results of the survey and make the report available on the AusCERT web site in May 2005.

Security and Privacy of Survey Data
The identity of survey respondents will be anonymous. AusCERT manages and controls the security of the survey web site. AusCERT adopts best practice in computer security which includes, inter alia, deploying appropriate encryption to help protect the privacy and confidentiality of all responses.
