PROBLEM SUMMARY
Potential security vulnerability with Distributed Computing
Environment (DCE) where a remote user may cause the service
to become unresponsive. This vulnerability may be exploited
in the DCE/RPC environment in association with the Blaster
worm network traffic.

VERSIONS IMPACTED
All currently supported versions of HP OpenVMS including
V6.3, V7.1, V7.2x, V7.3x running Distributed Computing
Environment (DCE).

RESOLUTION
HP is diligently working on a resolution for this
vulnerability at the present time, this Bulletin will be
updated immediately a solution is available.

In the event that the DCE service has become unresponsive,
a workaround that can be used after the Windows environment
is free of the Blaster worm is to restart DCE using the
following commands:

@sys$startup:DCE$shutdown

@sys$startup:DCE$startup
