If you wish to send sensitive incident or vulnerability information to AusCERT staff by electronic mail, we advise that the e-mail be encrypted.

AusCERT can support:

  • a shared DES key; or
  • PGP.
AusCERT currently uses PGP to digitally sign all official outgoing electronic mail. The PGP system is being used because it is currently the most widely deployed signature system available. Newer systems may be adopted as the relevant legislation and technologies change.
To communicate via shared DES key, contact AusCERT by phone or FAX with the key:

Hotline: +61 7 3365 4417
Facsimile: +61 7 3365 7031

The AusCERT PGP Public Key can be obtained from:

http://www.auscert.org.au/render.html?it=1967.

If you require further confirmation, contact AusCERT to confirm the key fingerprint over the phone.
