OVERVIEW
A number of vulnerabilities have been identified in Ruby prior to
versions 1.9.3 patchlevel 392 and 2.0.0 patchlevel 0. [1, 2]
IMPACT
The vendor has provided the following details regarding these
vulnerabilities:
"Unrestricted entity expansion can lead to a DoS vulnerability in
REXML." [1]
"There is a denial of service and unsafe object creation
vulnerability in the json bundled with ruby. This vulnerability has
been assigned the CVE identifier CVE-2013-0269." [2]
MITIGATION
The vendor recommends updating to the latest version of Ruby to
correct these issues. [1, 2]
