The information in the following Security Bulletin should be acted upon
as soon as possible.  Hewlett-Packard Company will not be liable for
any consequences to any customer resulting from customer's failure to
fully implement instructions in this Security Bulletin as soon as

ISSUE:    The login(1) command allows restricted shell users
          to circumvent security checks.

PLATFORM: HP9000 Series 700/800 running HP-UX releases 11.00, 11.04,
          11.11, 10.20, 10.24, and 10.26.

DAMAGE:   Restricted shell users can gain unauthorized access.

      Hewlett-Packard Company has learned of a defect in login which
      allows restricted shell users to execute unauthorized commands
      and possibly break out of the restricted shell.

      Apply the appropriate patch as listed herein.
