PROBLEM: dlkm static kernel symbol table is incorrectly configured.
PLATFORM: HP9000 Series 700/800 running HP-UX release 11.11 only.
DAMAGE: Allows potential unauthorized local privileges.

SOLUTION: Install the appropriate patch for HP-UX release 11.11

A. Background
Dynamically Loadable Kernel Modules is a feature introduced
in HP-UX 11.00. A vulnerability was introduced in HP-UX 11.11.
Installation of the referenced patch is necessary for continued
secure operation of the HP-UX 11.11 servers.
HP-UX 11.00 is not vulnerable.

B. Recommended solution
Retrieve the following patch from itrc.hp.com and apply it
to your affected systems.

NOTE: A reboot of the system will be necessary.
C. To subscribe to automatically receive future NEW HP Security

do the following:

Use the 'Login' tab at the left side of the screen to login
using your ID and password.

Once in the archive the top link is to our current Security
