OVERVIEW
f5 have released a number of HotFixes for BIG-IP correcting a remote
buffer overflow vulnerability.
IMPACT
The vendor has provided the following information regarding this
vulnerability:
BIG-IP ASM and PSM remote buffer overflow exploit: CVE-2009-4420
"The BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) and Protocol Security
Manager (PSM) bd daemon is vulnerable to a remote buffer overflow
which may cause the system to crash and dump core." [1]
MITIGATION
The following hotfixes correct the issue for their respective versions:
Hotfix-BIGIP-9.4.6-425.0-HF3 issued for BIG-IP version 9.4.6
Hotfix-BIGIP-9.4.7-333.0-HF2 issued for BIG-IP version 9.4.7
Hotfix-BIGIP-10.0.0-5519.0-HF3 issued for BIG-IP version 10.0.0
Hotfix-BIGIP-10.0.1-354.0-HF2 issued for BIG-IP version 10.0.1.
