OVERVIEW
An updated version of Ruby 1.9 has been released fixing a heap overflow
vulnerability which may allow attackers to run arbitrary code.
IMPACT
The vendor has provided the following information regarding the
vulnerability:
"There is a heap overflow vulnerability in String#ljust, String#center
and String#rjust. This has allowed an attacker to run arbitrary code
in some rare cases." [2]
MITIGATION
The vendor has released Ruby 1.9.1-p376 to which fixes this
vulnerability. [1]
The vendor also advises that this vulnerability is not present in the
Ruby 1.8 stream.
