OVERVIEW
A security vulnerability has been identifed in IBM Lotus Notes
versions 8.0 and 8.5.
IMPACT
The vendor has provided the following information regarding this
vulnerability:
"IBM Lotus Notes 8.x (Standard Configuration) clients include a
built-in RSS feed reader which allows you to receive regular RSS
updates from Web sites. In certain circumstances end users may find
themselves vulnerable to a cross-site scripting exploit." [1]
MITIGATION
IBM have offered 3 methods to mitigate this vulnerability. Users
can either download a patch, disable the pop-up preview window
notes client preference or disable feeds via a desktop policy. [1]
