OVERVIEW
A security vulnerability has been identified in Squid.
IMPACT
The vendor has assigned bug 2541 to this vulnerability which is
describe as:
"Hang in 100% CPU loop while extacting header details using a
delimiter other than comma (external_acl_type, access_log_format,
external_refresh_check)" [1]
MITIGATION
A proposed patch has been made available on the vendor's site [2],
administrators should test this patch before using it in a live
environement. This bug is also listed as corrected in the changeset
for Squid 3.0 [3]. Other versions of Squid may also be affected.
