OVERVIEW

        Symantec have released updates to a number of their products to 
        correct a security vulnerability.


IMPACT

        The vendor has detailed that the following products are vulnerable
        to a Denial of Service (DoS): [1]
        
          * Norton AntiVirus versions 2005 through to 2008
          * Norton Internet Security versions 2005 through to 2008
          * Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition verisions 9.0 MR6 and 
            earlier, 10.0 all versions, 10.1 MR7 and earlier, 10.2 MR2 and 
            earlier.
          * Symantec Client Security versions 2.0 MR6 and earlier, 3.0 all 
            versions, 3.1 MR7 and earlier


MITIGATION

        Users of Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security can correct
        this vulnerability by running LiveUpdate in interactive mode. 
        Patches for the other affected products can update to the relevant
        version as described in the vendor's publication. [1]
