OVERVIEW
A security vulnerability has been identified in the BIG-IP
Application Security Manager and Protocol Security Manager daemons.
IMPACT
The vendor has provided the following information regarding this
vulnerability:
"The BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) and Protocol
Security Manager (PSM) bd daemon is vulnerable to a remote buffer
overflow which may cause the system to crash and dump core." [1]
This vulnerability affects the following products [1]:
o BIG-IP ASM versions 9.4.4 - 9.4.7
o BIG-IP ASM versions 10.0.0 - 10.0.1
o BIG-IP PSM versions 9.4.5 - 9.4.7
o BIG-IP PSM versions 10.0.0 - 10.0.1
MITIGATION
f5 have released the following hotfixes to address this
vulnerability:
o Hotfix-BIGIP-9.4.6-425.0-HF3 issued for BIG-IP version 9.4.6
o Hotfix-BIGIP-9.4.7-333.0-HF2 issued for BIG-IP version 9.4.7
o Hotfix-BIGIP-10.0.0-5519.0-HF3 issued for BIG-IP version 10.0.0
o Hotfix-BIGIP-10.0.1-354.0-HF2 issued for BIG-IP version 10.0.1
which are available from the f5 downloads site. [2]
