Security update available for Flex SDK
Release date: August 19, 2009
Vulnerability identifier: APSB09-13
CVE number: CVE-2009-1879
Platform: All Platforms
Summary
An important vulnerability has been identified in Flex 3.3 SDK and earlier
versions. This vulnerability could result in cross-site scripting.
Affected software versions
Flex 3.3 SDK and earlier versions
Solution
Adobe recommends all users of Flex 3.3 SDK and earlier versions update to the
newest version, Flex 3.4 SDK, by downloading it from Adobe's open source web
site.
Developers can find information on correcting the issue in older versions of
the SDK or existing content within this TechNote.
Severity rating
Adobe categorizes this as an important issue and recommends affected users
update their installations.
Details
An important vulnerability has been identified within template files contained
in the Flex 3.3 SDK and earlier versions. This vulnerability could allow an
attacker to execute a reflected cross-site scripting attack on web sites using
the affected code.
This update for Flex resolves a cross-site scripting vulnerability within the
express-install templates for the Flex SDK (CVE-2009-1879).
This update includes the latest versions of Adobe Flash Player which resolves
security issues described in Security Bulletin APSB09-10.
Acknowledgments
Adobe would like to thank the following individuals and organizations for
reporting the relevant issues and for working with Adobe to help protect our
customers security.
