OVERVIEW
A vulnerability has been identified in VLC media player version
1.0.0 which could allow for execution of arbitrary code. [1]
IMPACT
The vulnerability is an integer underflow in the Real pseudo-RTSP
module. Secunia states that this vulnerability requires VLC to be
"running on a system which implements "read()" or "recv()" functions
accepting negative arguments (e.g. not Windows XP or Linux 2.6.x)". [2]
MITIGATION
VLC have released version 1.0.1 to correct this vulnerability. [3]
