OVERVIEW:

Cisco has confirmed a security vulnerability in the IronPort AsyncOS.

IMPACT:

The vendor has provided the following details regarding this
       vulnerability:

"Cisco IronPort AsyncOS contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability
that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute
arbitrary script code in the user's browser.

The vulnerability exists in the login page of the Spam Quarantine
feature. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this
vulnerability by creating a malicious link and convincing a targeted
user to follow it. If the user clicks the link, the attacker could
execute arbitrary script code in the user's browser in the security
       context of the affected site.

A proof-of-concept URL is publicly available.

Cisco has confirmed this vulnerability and updated software is
       available." [1]

MITIGATION:

Cisco have released a fix for this vulnerability and states:

"Administrators can apply fixes by using the upgrade command from the
command line interface, or by using the System Administrator tab of
the graphical user interface (GUI) to select the System Upgrade option.
In either case, version 6.5.2 contains the fix." [1]
