OVERVIEW:
Ignite Realtime Openfire has reported two serious vulnerabilities in
the passwd_change option.
IMPACT:
(CVE-2009-1595)
Remote unauthenticated users are able to exploit a modified username
element in Openfire 3.6.3 in a passwd_change action to change other
users' passwords. [1]
(CVE-2009-1596)
A configuration setting in Openfire 3.6.3 in the register.password
console is not properly implemented, allowing remote unauthenticated
users to change their own passwords. [2]
MITIGATION:
The vendor recommends upgrading to the latest version. [3]
