Browser beware!

Date: 24 April 2009

Greetings,

Highlight of the week goes to Mozilla.
If you have not already updated your Firefox, Thunderbird and/or Seamonkey [1],
now is probably a good time as there are some stability issues in the browser
engine which could be exploited to execute arbitrary code.

We have seen a resurgence in a number of old phishing techniques,
perhaps using newer technologies, but the methods are back-to-basics.
A recent example being that of a Javascript-obfuscated file attachment
which loads a form to be filled in and when submitted, the form
data is sent to a logging server.

Regards,
Patrick Mannion
