OVERVIEW:

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been corrected in BlackBerry
       Enterprise Server.

IMPACT:

The vendor has provided the following information regarding this
       vulnerabilities:

"A security vulnerability exists in the MDS Connection Service of
the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1.6 MR4 and earlier. This
vulnerability could enable externally supplied scripts to be executed
in the security context of the user administering the MDS Connection
Service using the BlackBerry Administration Service." [1]

"Multiple security vulnerabilities exist in the PDF distiller of
some released versions of the BlackBerry Attachment Service. These
vulnerabilities could enable a malicious individual to send an email
message containing a specially crafted PDF file, which when opened for
viewing on a BlackBerry smartphone, could cause memory corruption and
possibly lead to arbitrary code execution on the computer that hosts
       the BlackBerry Attachment Service." [2]

MITIGATION:

The first vulnerability can be corrected by upgrading to BlackBerry
Enterprise Server version 4.1.6 MR5. Visit the vendor's download site
to obtain the new version. [3]

The second vulnerability can be correct by downloading the relevant
patches also available from the vendor's download site. [3]
