OVERVIEW:

       A security vulnerability has been corrected in IBM Rational 
       ClearCase.


IMPACT:

       IBM have provided the following information regarding this security
       vulnerability:

       "UCM-CQ on Linux/AIX: user login credentials in plain-text by ps -ef 
       command." [1]

       CVE-2009-1292 has been assigned to this vulnerability which is
       described as:

       "UCM-CQ in IBM Rational ClearCase 7.0.0.x before 7.0.0.5, 7.0.1.x 
       before 7.0.1.4, and 7.1.x before 7.1.0.1 on Linux and AIX places a 
       username and password on the command line, which allows local users 
       to obtain credentials by listing the process." [2]


MITIGATION:

       IBM have reportedly corrected this vulnerability is versions 7.0.0.5, 
       7.0.1.4,and 7.1.0.1. [1]

       Users can download the relevant fix pack from IBM Fix Central. [3]
