OVERVIEW:
Multiple vulnerabillities have been corrected in Joomla! core
components.
IMPACT:
The vendor has provided the following details regarding these
vulberabilities:
"A series of XSS and CSRF faults exist in the administrator
application. Affected administrator components include com_admin,
com_media, com_search. Both com_admin and com_search contain XSS
vulnerabilities, and com_media contains 2 CSRF vulnerabilities." [1]
"A XSS vulnerability exists in the category view of com_content." [2]
MITIGATION:
To correct these vulnerabilities upgrade to Joomla! 1.5.10 or newer.
In some cases, organisations may not be aware that they have a web
server using Joomla! within their network. AusCERT recommends that
network administrators audit their networks for web servers running
the vulnerable software, and either uninstall or update them.
