More patches for Easter

Date: 09 April 2009

Greetings,

The vulnerablity of the week goes to VMware who released new patches across a number of their products. Users of this virtualisation package may wish to look at applying the patches as they are remotely exploitable.

2nd place goes to Cisco who released multiple vulnerabilities in the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances and Cisco PIX Security Appliances.

In other news, there is talk of a Conficker.D variant. There has been a lot of media attention to this worm due to the April 1st activation date, although to-date we have not seen any malicious activity relating to this.

Nominations for the 2009 SC Magazine Industry Awards, to be hosted at this year's AusCERT conference, are closing on the 24th of April. Please see the nominations page if you would like to submit an entry.

Enjoy the long weekend and drive safely.

Adrian
