   1. Impact
   Security vulnerabilities in the Solaris lpadmin(1M) and the ppdmgr(1M)
   print utilities may, under specific circumstances, allow local
   unprivileged users to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) to certain
   system services or to the system as a whole.
   Sun acknowledges with thanks, Mike Gerdts for bringing these issues to
   our attention.
   
   2. Contributing Factors
   This issue can occur in the following releases:
   SPARC Platform
     * Solaris 10 with patch 127127-11 and without patch 139390-01
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_61 through snv_106

   x86 Platform
     * Solaris 10 with patch 127128-11 and without patch 139391-01
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_61 through snv_106

   Notes:
   1. Solaris 8 and 9 are not impacted by these issues.
   2. Only OpenSolaris installations including the following affected
   executable scripts are impacted by this issue:

   /usr/sbin/lpadmin
   /usr/sbin/ppdmgr

   3. OpenSolaris distributions may include additional bug fixes above
   and beyond the base build from which it was derived. The base build
   can be derived as follows:
   $ uname -v
   snv_105

   3. Symptoms
   There are no predictable symptoms to indicate these issues have been
   exploited to lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition.
   
   4. Workaround
   There is no workaround for this issue. Please see the Resolution
   section below.
  
   5. Resolution
   This issue is addressed in the following releases:
   SPARC Platform
     * Solaris 10 with patch 139390-01 or later
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_107 or later

   x86 Platform
     * Solaris 10 with patch 139391-01 or later
     * OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_107 or later
