OVERVIEW:
A vulnerability has been corrected in the latest Linux Kernel.
IMPACT:
The National Vulnerability Database [1] has assigned CVE-2008-5700
to this vulnerability:
CVE-2008-5700: libata in the Linux kernel before 2.6.27.9 does not
set minimum timeouts for SG_IO requests, which allows local users to
cause a denial of service (Programmed I/O mode on drives) via
multiple simultaneous invocations of an unspecified test program.

Kernel.org have confirmed its fix in the change log for 2.6.28:
Add a BLK_MIN_SG_TIMEOUT to match the existing
BLK_DEFAULT_SG_TIMEOUT. [3]
MITIGATION:
Upgrade to Linux Kernel version 2.6.28 or later to patch this
vulnerability.
