Date: 13 November 2008

Greetings all,

This week we saw a fairly even spread of fixes across some major operating systems.

Microsoft Patch Tuesday brings us two vulnerability fixes, one of which has origins dating back as far as seven years.

A major fix was also released for the Linux kernel to resolve multiple vulnerabilities.

In important news for end-users, patches were released for several holes in major web suites, namely Safari, Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey products.

Additionally, there was an important new release of the Apple iLife suite , which ships by default on all new Apple installs.

This week we also welcomed Daniel McNamara to the co-ordination centre as a Security Analyst. He brings with him a wealth of Linux experience.

Regards,

Patrick
