Releases o Ubuntu 16.04 ESM o Ubuntu 14.04 ESM Packages o bind9 - Internet Domain Name Server Details USN-5626-1 fixed several vulnerabilities in Bind. This update provides the corresponding update for Ubuntu 14.04 ESM and Ubuntu 16.04 ESM. Original advisory details: Yehuda Afek, Anat Bremler-Barr, and Shani Stajnrod discovered that Bind incorrectly handled large delegations. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to reduce performance, leading to a denial of service. ( CVE-2022-2795 ) It was discovered that Bind incorrectly handled memory when processing ECDSA DNSSEC verification. A remote attacker could use this issue to consume resources, leading to a denial of service. ( CVE-2022-38177 ) Update instructions The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu 16.04 o bind9 - 1:9.10.3.dfsg.P4-8ubuntu1.19+esm3 Available with UA Infra or UA Desktop Ubuntu 14.04 o bind9 - 1:9.9.5.dfsg-3ubuntu0.19+esm7 Available with UA Infra or UA Desktop In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
