OVERVIEW:
libpng versions prior to 1.2.22 contain several denial of service
vulnerabilities. Updates have been released to correct these issues.
IMPACT:
The libpng web site [1] contains the following information regarding
these denial of service vulnerabilities:
o CVE-2007-5266, CVE-2007-5268, CVE-2007-5269: "Versions 1.2.20 and
earlier have a number of potential crash-bugs due to out-of-bounds
reads in certain chunk-handlers"
o CVE-2007-5267: "Version 1.2.21 has a crash bug when reading the
ICC-profile chunk, iCCP"
MITIGATION:
All of the above denial of service vulnerabilities are corrected in
libpng version 1.2.22, which is available from the web site [1].
